Omsk to Moscow

Moscow to Tallinn -- Cancelled

Flight Cancelled
Matt and I had bought a direct flight from Moscow to Tallinn after hearing that the Estonian-Russian border was a little sketchy. However after a strong recomendation for Leningrad, we decided it was unmissable. While we're at it, we thought we might as well go to Finland and follow Matt's childhood footsteps in Helsinki. The only downside to this revision: the requisite flight cancellation fee. Le sigh.

Moscow to St. Petersburg

We traveled on the Rossiya (Russian train #2) for this segment, and it was fantastic.

St. Petersburg to Helsinki

Was a fantastic train and the easiest border crossing we've ever done.

Helsinki to Vienna

Via Blue1/SAS. Pretty good deal, but don't buy the sandwiches in Stockholm, they're murderously expensive.

Vienna to Budapest

Trains were awesome.

Budapest to Muelheim an der Ruhr

Here we rocked an InterRail and Eurail pass. InterRail was slightly cheaper for Matt as an EU citizen.

Muelheim an der Ruhr to Waterloo

Easy train, probably went by Thalys or ICE.
