[edit] 2009

  • 06/07: Matt has finished moving the Wiki content to a new server and cleaning it up. Planning is now in full-swing!
  • 01/31: The planning for Chats du Monde 2009 has begun! Possibilities include Switzerland, Iceland, Great Britain, Ireland, Hungary, Turkey and a bike trip across the US for Matt!

[edit] 2008

  • 12/31: We had a wonderful summer traveling through Europe, the Middle East and Asia! Check out our pictures. :)
  • 07/18: We've been very busy with work and unfortunately the server's Internet connection is not super reliable. But nevertheless, we're back and editing the Wiki in preparation for our next big trip! :-)
  • 06/03: It's 4:30am and we are still at CERN having spent over 16 hours here for 3 days in a row. But atleast we leave for Prague today! We have lots of wonderful photos to share from the last two weeks, including our first visit to the CMS detector and a crazy hike in the Jura mountains.
  • 05/24: Currently getting settled into work at CERN and enjoying our first weekend trip to Belgium. We'll begin our journal entries soon.
  • 05/17: We are in Geneva! Both of us are suffering from fairly severe jet-lag at the moment, but updates and stories to come once we can stay awake for more than a few minutes. :)
  • 05/12: The Packing '08 page continues to be updated with refinements to the packing list, while plans are in progress to launch a WordPress blog on another portion of the site. We would like to publish our travel journals on the site, as well as to create a space to chronicle some of our other misadventures in bureaucracy so that others can benefit. :-) For example, you may be wondering, "Does the Vietnamese Embassy in Washington DC actually publish the cost of a visa?" and indeed, the answer is, "No, they do not publish it anywhere, and they will tell you as much if you call them." Also, no matter what you may have heard or you can find on the Internet, there is no Cambodian consulate in Los Angeles, CA as of May 2008. Kat actually visited the building at the listed address and it's boarded up.
  • 05/10: The server has been a little spotty lately, entirely due to the weather and our ISP being idiots. We apologise on their behalf!
